Why I Started This Site: I Remember Being the Beginner Who Didn’t Know Where to Click

If you landed here wondering who is behind this site and whether you can trust them, that is a sensible question to ask before following anyone’s advice online. This page is the about me page of a beginner online business site, and it answers that question directly. I remember being the beginner who didn’t know where to click, and this site is written for that person.

If you are new, you are in the right place

You may have no website, no idea what affiliate marketing means, and a browser with fifteen tabs open. You may have watched a few videos that each said something different. That is a normal starting point, and nobody on this site will treat it as a problem.

The site is built for total beginners. Nothing here assumes you already know the vocabulary, and when a term is needed, it gets explained the first time it appears.

Why starting online feels so confusing

Most of the confusion comes from the way information is presented. Advice for beginners is often written by people who have forgotten what it was like to be new, so it skips the small steps that feel huge on day one.

A few things make it worse:

A laptop screen crowded with fifteen overlapping browser tabs on a cluttered wooden desk, with a half-drunk mug of tea and a notepad covered in crossed-out scribbles, lit by soft grey morning window light.
  • Every guide recommends a different first move, so you can’t tell which one is right.
  • Terms like niche, traffic, keyword and funnel arrive all at once.
  • Plenty of pages promise fast results, which makes honest ones harder to spot.
  • Nobody tells you what to do when you get stuck.

Doubting a site like this one is a reasonable response to all of that.

What makes online business feel possible

Starting stops feeling impossible when three things are in place: a clear order to do things in, one task at a time, and somewhere to ask questions when you are stuck. A beginner doesn’t need every answer on the first day. They need to know what the next small action is.

That is the approach this site takes. Each guide covers one stage and says what to do next, so you are never left guessing where to click.

Why I promote Wealthy Affiliate, and how I earn from it

This site promotes Wealthy Affiliate, a platform where beginners learn to build an online business. I earn a referral commission when someone joins through my link. The commission recurs for as long as that person stays subscribed.

A hand-drawn paper checklist with a single task circled in green pen, resting beside a closed laptop and a small potted plant on a tidy desk in warm afternoon light, suggesting one calm next step.

You should know that, because it means I benefit when you join. It also means I benefit more when you stay, which is a good reason for me to write guides that help you make progress rather than guides that only get you to sign up.

If you want to compare options before deciding, the article on free vs paid starting options sets out what beginners get at each level. Read it before you spend anything, wherever you end up starting.

What you can expect from this site

These are the commitments I make to you as a reader:

  • Plain language. If a word needs explaining, it gets explained.
  • Small steps. Each guide covers one stage, so you can finish it in one sitting.
  • Open disclosure. When a link earns me a commission, I will say so.
  • No pressure. You decide when to join anything, and whether to.

I will not promise income figures or a timeline, because those depend on the effort you put in and I can’t know your circumstances. What I can promise is that the guidance here is written to be clear, and that I will keep it that way.

Where to begin today, at your own pace

You don’t need to read the whole site. One guide is enough for today, and the best place for it is the one written for people who know nothing yet. Read it, close the tab, and come back tomorrow if you like.

Starting slowly is fine. A beginner who takes one small action each day is making more progress than one who reads everything and never begins.

Say hello

I would like to hear from you. If something in a guide is unclear, if you are unsure which option suits you, or if you simply want to say where you are in the process, send me a message. I will read it, and if I can help, I will.
